BIFFL Financial Literacy Program: 30 June 2025

As part of the annual plan of Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Limited’s (BIFFL) Financial Literacy Program and in alignment with the targets set for the first half of 2025, a focused awareness session titled “Participation in the Financial Sector and Women’s Rights” was organized on 30 June 2025. The event took place at the Narayanganj factory of Olympic Industries Limited, one of BIFFL’s valued clients. This initiative aimed to support the broader goal of enhancing financial literacy among farmers and low-income marginalized communities—particularly among women, who often remain excluded from the mainstream financial ecosystem despite their substantial contribution to the national economy.

The session brought together approximately 30 officials and workers of Olympic Industries, with a significant number of participants being low-income marginalized women. During the program, key discussions revolved around the need for greater female participation in the financial sector and the long-term benefits it can generate—not only for individuals and families but also for sustainable national development. Speakers highlighted various ways in which financial inclusion can empower women economically, socially, and personally, enabling them to make informed decisions, build assets, and access resources that contribute to their overall well-being. At the same time, the program acknowledged the social and structural barriers women face, such as limited financial literacy, lack of access to formal banking channels, and gender-based discrimination.

To make the session more engaging and informative, selected infographic videos from the official website of Bangladesh Bank were presented. These visual tools helped explain complex financial

concepts in an accessible manner and demonstrated the impact of financial inclusion in real-world scenarios. A dedicated Q&A segment followed the presentation, providing participants with an opportunity to raise questions, share personal experiences, and seek clarifications on various aspects of financial rights, services, and women’s empowerment. The interactive nature of the session fostered meaningful dialogue and reflected BIFFL’s commitment to creating a financially aware and inclusive society where women have equal access to financial resources and opportunities.
